Museum Description:

The Flagler Museum opened to the public in 1960. The Museum is housed within Whitehall, Henry Flagler’s Gilded Age estate built in 1902 in Palm Beach, Florida. Located on beautiful Lake Worth (Intracoastal Waterway), the Museum is designated a National Historic Landmark and accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. The Flagler Museum serves visitors from all over the world and offers an active schedule of programs and exhibitions.

About the Position:

This full-time position assists the Museum’s Director of Finance. Activities include: completing daily deposits and coordination of all daily revenue streams from ticket sales, store and café sales, contributions, memberships, and grants; posting daily revenue in database; organizing weekly payables and generating checks; preparing calculations; assisting with bank reconciliations and annual financial audit; managing office activities; assisting with departmental projects.

General Qualifications:

The Finance Assistant should have a background and degree in business, finance, or accounting. The position requires excellent attention to detail and an understanding of urgent daily, monthly, quarterly and annual finance schedules. Experience and interest in non-profit finance preferred.

Required skills:

-Ability to learn accounting software quickly and demonstrate proficiency

-Accuracy in calculations and attention to detail; ability to stay on schedule

-Effective communication skills

-Ability to handle multiple projects and stay focused and organized
