Marketing and Design Coordinator

Position: Marketing Coordinator
Department: Development
Supervisor: Director of Development
Position Summary: To develop and execute a comprehensive marketing campaign, integrating a spectrum of strategies to better align museum programs, events and initiatives with the museum’s mission and the community’s needs.

  • Implement comprehensive annual marketing plan for programs, events and initiatives
  • Ensure marketing plan is executed consistently and properly across all departments
  • Develop department guidelines to ensure consistent branding with all marketing efforts
  • Stay current with industry developments and make recommendations that support YAA programs, events and initiatives


  • Compile & maintain mailing & e-mail distribution lists
  • Management of YAA’s photo archive
  • Facilitate internal marketing requests for flyers, signage, and social media
  • Maintain visitor services displays with current marketing materials
  • Develop and rotate monthly marquee messages
  • Serve as on-site support for all YAA events


  • Manage advertising, printing and supply needs within a limited marketing budget
  • Monitor and update YAA web site
  • Attend and prepare for community outreaches as a marketing representative
  • Prepare all marketing kits for education outreaches
  • Manage Constant Contact database and create communications as-needed
  • Develop Monthly E-blast schedule and specific campaigns for key events


  • Manage advertising, printing and supply needs within a limited marketing budget
  • Negotiate advertising agreements and execute advertising contracts
  • Oversee & disseminate partnerships
  • Create ads for print & digital publication by publishing deadlines
  • Ensure proper placement of sponsor logos on documents

Graphic Design

  • Work with graphic designer to manage projects and develop collateral material
  • Design and implement new content for monthly YAA E-Newsletter
  • Create original artwork for flyers, invitations and other materials as needed

Social Media

  • Manage all YAA social media accounts and develop posting schedule
  • Create original content and generate 3-6 posts per day across all networks
  • Attend evening & weekend events to post “as-it-happens” content
  • Conduct research & analysis of new social media trends sites, tools and news
  • Facilitate all post requests from community partners and YAA departments

Public Relations

  • Serve as primary liaison for Pierson Grant Public Relations
  • Provide shot lists for event photographers and serve as event handler
  • Forward media hits that post via social media
  • Proofread, edit and provide content for press releases and calendar listings

Partnerships /Events

  • Engage in mutually beneficial partnerships with relevant marketing partners
  • Facilitate & screen requests from potential new partners
  • Create marketing benefits for all sponsorship and partnership agreements
  • Fulfill terms of all partnership agreements

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in marketing, graphic design and communications
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Social Media Outlets
  • Advanced written, verbal communication as well as attention to content and process
  • Content Management a must, demonstrated skills is graphic design, verbal communication, writing, and editing
