The Flagler Museum opened to the public in 1960. The Museum is housed within Whitehall, Henry Flagler’s Gilded Age estate built in 1902 in Palm Beach, Florida. Located on beautiful Lake Worth (Intracoastal Waterway), the Museum is designated a National Historic Landmark and accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. About the Position:
The full-time Retail Manager (RM) oversees the operation of the Museum Store and Museum Café. The Store and Café offer Museum visitors high-quality experiences related to the Gilded Age elegance of Whitehall. The Museum Store is open during Museum hours and evening programs. The RM oversees staffing, purchasing, merchandising, inventory, sales reports, and product development. The Museum Café is open to the public for lunch from November through April. An elegant tea service is prepared and served. The RM oversees staffing, quality control, menu, ordering, and all required compliance and certifications.
The qualified candidate should have extensive retail experience, with a Bachelors degree. Restaurant experience preferred. Must be creative, goal-oriented, and ready to jump into a busy environment. The RM is responsible for achieving sales goals, assisting with creative marketing plans, expanding wholesale opportunities, and enthusiastically striving to increase attendance and revenue.
- Create and manage budgets; oversee merchandising and inventory

- Proficiency with point of sales system
- Management – ability to motivate staff and volunteers, train in customer service and sales; stay current with Store and Café industry trends
