Florida Connecting to Collections New Free Collections Development & Management Policies Workshops: February 24 & April 7, 2017

Are you a Florida based library special collections, museum, zoo, archives or archaeological group who deals with the management of collections? The Florida Connecting to Collections Program can assist your institution in the creation of a collections development or management policy that will help you in the management of your collection.

This free program, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, provides webinars and resources for collecting organizations to work in mentor/mentee groups developing collections policies through a series of four modules – each consisting of two (2) workshops.

  • Workshop #1: Webinar/In-Person Discussions
    Date: February 24, 2017
    Locations: Cummer Museum-Jacksonville, Lake Wales Library, and Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum-Clewiston
  • *Mid-Module Potential Webinars: Risk Management and Insurance or Valuation
  • Workshop #2: Collections Assessment/Practical Exercise
    Date: April 7, 2017
    Locations: TBD
  • Application Deadline: February 15, 2017
