Marketing and Communications Manager

As a member of Thomasville Center for the Arts’ leadership team, the Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive and integrated marketing and communication strategy to support organizational priorities, drive public participation in programs and events, and strengthen awareness of the Center’s brand.

Responsibilities:
• Develops and implements a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy designed to keep the public informed about Center’s mission, programs, exhibits, festivals, events, opportunities, and accomplishments.
• Develops and manages general marketing and communication production timelines, including print and digital materials.
• Lead all areas of content generation and production across media platforms.
• Serves as primary graphic designer and hires contracted designers as needed.
• Develops and distributes e-newsletters, promotional e-blasts, and electronic communication.
• Assists in creating and designing printed materials, including newsletters, annual fund appeals, and other fundraising materials throughout the year.
• Writes and/or edits and maintains the content of the Center’s website and other publications.
• Manages social media presence for the Center, serving as the main point of contact for all social content and engagement.
• Conducts all general media buying, ad placement, and advertising contracts.
• Maintains media list and fosters relationships with local and regional media outlets.
• Writes press releases, pitches stories, and arranges interviews to ensure coverage of general Center programs; serves as on-site contact for media at Center events.
• Ensures that programs and events are on local community calendars and other arts-related schedules across the region and state.
• Prepares annual marketing and communications plan and budget.
• Maintains archive of promotional materials, advertising, photography, and other materials as needed.
• Monitors, reviews and reports on all marketing activity and results.
• Advises the Executive Director in making strategic decisions regarding the public advancement of the organization.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with five years of experience in marketing, graphic design, or communications.
• Basic knowledge of Meta Business Suite, HTML programming, WordPress, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Illustrator or Photoshop.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong computer skills, especially relative to digital communication strategies and emerging technologies.
• Strong design ability with an understanding of layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Experience in all aspects of developing and implementing marketing programs, customer and market research, and social media applications.
• Excellent file management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional writing and editing skills.
• Strong working knowledge of graphic design and printing processes.
• Background in print and digital publication design preferred.
• Keen attention to detail with particular emphasis on communication and organization.

Working Conditions & Physical Tasks:
• Must have ability to communicate by voice via telephone, read and understand English, and generate written communication manually and
using a computer.
• Must have the ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time, lift and move documents and supplies up to 25 lbs., and bend or reach to file and
retrieve documents.
• Must have ability to perform physical tasks associated with off-site meetings, media support at events, materials distribution, and transport of signage.
• Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle is required.
• Occasional weekend and evening availability required.

Thomasville Center for the Arts provides company paid vision, dental, life, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Additionally, the Center participates in a QSEHRA medical program, providing employees up to $300 per month to be used for eligible medical expenses, including health insurance premiums.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
