PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Database Administrator is a critical, hands-on role and is responsible for optimizing the organization-wide usage of all point-of-sale (POS) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems including reporting and analysis of data, managing data import and data entry, data extraction, data quality initiatives, and other related activities. This position will also provide support to the IT Support Specialist as needed.

Qualified applicants must be detail-oriented, results-driven individuals who can take ownership of a project and can work well without direct oversight. They must have good interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to perform duties with a high degree of accuracy. Candidates for this position should have strong computer skills and the ability to maintain a friendly and professional disposition when working with internal clients. Since the museum is open 7 days a week, your schedule might vary depending on the needs of the museum. This might include being able to respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide daily support and solutions that guarantee the operational efficiency of all POS and CRM systems
  • Develop and document POS and CRM processes and procedures to educate end users
  • Provide leadership and coordination in expansion of POS and CRM utilization: organizing meetings with super users, setting up training sessions, soliciting and providing feedback
  • Responsible for overseeing a satisfactory and friendly in-person user experience of all POS and CRM systems as well as collaborating with the Marketing team to provide a seamless online website experience
  • In collaboration with the IT Support Specialist, provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in a museum or cultural organization preferred
  • Experience and/or deep interest in non-profit practices, visitor experience digital operations, analytics and reporting, particularly with regards to fundraising, systems analysis, and/or quality assurance
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, cloud platforms and paperless environments
  • Experience working with Point-Of-Sale (POS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems required (Tessitura and Inventory POS experience preferred)
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) a plus, such as WordPress, Drupal, or Magento
  • A self-starter who demonstrates a high sense of ownership and can work independently, provide accurate work estimates, and manage timelines across multiple projects. Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with many stakeholders
  • Use creative and innovative thinking to enhance the museum’s digital strategies
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills in order to interface with various departments and management levels, technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to quickly learn new technical skills and procedures
  • Applicants are expected to have an undergraduate degree, with a preferred but not required focus in Analysis, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Nonprofit Management or a related field. Exceptions might be considered based on experience in the field
