Museum Educator

Ponce Inlet Historical Museum, Ponce Inlet

The Town of Ponce Inlet is currently accepting applications for a part-time Museum Educator at the Ponce Inlet Historical Museum in the Cultural Services Department. 

The essential function of the position is to provide a high standard of service and an enjoyable educational museum experience for the general public. Learn and tell the story of people, places, and events in the Town’s history. Greet and assist museum visitors; lead guided tours; interpret exhibits for visitors. Assist in organizing and maintaining museum exhibits and displays. Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing various museum activities and Town sponsored events. Creates social media content. Sell limited gift items and souvenirs.

Minimum qualifications include High School or equivalent degree; supplemented by a demonstrated aptitude for customer service-oriented work, and one (1) year clerical/customer service work, preferably within a similar museum or educational environment; and an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

State retirement and other benefits included. Pays $14.25-$17.81/hr. Position currently works Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00am - 2:00pm., with additional hours available for events. DOQ. EOE M/F/D/V-Drug-Free Workplace.
