- Bachelor’s Degree in History, Anthropology, Humanities, Education or related field.
- Three years of experience in a museum field with one year being in a supervisory position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and facilitate an annual schedule of major events, including Emancipation Day, Swing Dancing', etc., to include responsibility for effective coordination and rigorous pre- and post-planning and budgeting.
Manage the daily operations of the property, including visitor services, orientation, and educational programs. Respond to public inquiries.
Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate all staff and volunteers assigned to this site. Coordinate the Museum of Florida History internship program. Facilitate the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of intern projects.
Preserve and maintain the Knott House Museum, an 1840s house located in the Park Avenue National Historic District in Tallahassee. As the manager, develop, coordinate, track, and manage an annual maintenance plan for the facility with the assistance of Museum of Florida History Research and Collections and Design and Fabrication staff. Inventory and preserve the collections.
Develop and manage educational programs that identify and address diverse potential audiences, including K-12 (public, private, home school); college and university students; and lifelong learners. Ensure that each program has a method of measuring outcomes.
Compile, maintain, and report statistics and reports on attendance, visitation, visitor comment survey results, and other reports as required.
Write and manage grants relating to education and preservation at the Knott House. Facilitate fund raising opportunities at KHM.
Develop and facilitate marketing, public relations, and heritage tourism efforts that reinforce the public awareness of the site and its programs.
- Knowledge of best museum practices in collections and education.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to plan for program development.
- Ability to market and promote programs and events in coordination with Division staff
- Ability to research and write grants and proposals.
- Ability to work in Windows Office and Filemaker.
