Job Summary
The Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida is seeking a highly organized, collaborative Curatorial Program Coordinator to support our curators and ensure the successful execution of exhibitions and related programs. The Curatorial Program Coordinator will handle exhibition calendars, curatorial records, text production, budgeting, travel coordination, liaison duties, and staff supervision. This full time, 30 hour per week position reports directly to the Chief Curator and collaborates closely with the curators, museum staff, volunteers, interns, university departments, and external partners.
Job Responsibilities
• Prepare and proofread exhibition materials; manage curatorial paperwork and acquisition contracts.
• Coordinate and oversee financial processes (budgets, expenditures, vendor payments) and annual budget proposals.
• Schedule and manage curators’ travel, appointments, and speaking engagements, including presentation materials.
• Act as curatorial liaison to museum staff, volunteers, and the public; coordinate inter departmental interactions.
• Participate in staff meetings, exhibition planning, strategic planning, finance meetings, and grant applications.
• Assist in creating long term exhibition schedules and with monthly exhibition committee meetings.
• Respond to research inquiries and public requests; disseminate exhibition information.
• Supervise OPS employees, volunteers, interns, and work study students in the curators’ absence.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Preferred Qualifications
• BA/BS in arts administration, art history, English, history, anthropology, library science, or related field
• Excellent organizational, planning, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork aptitude
• Proficiency in Outlook, Teams, Zoom, TMS, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel
• Knowledge of data collection methods and ability to compile and analyze data
• Self directed and career minded
• Excellent communication skills
Work Schedule & Hours
This TEAMS Non-Exempt position is 30 hours per week; flexible schedule determined in collaboration with the Chief Curator. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday and may include evening and weekend work depending on museum needs.
Salary: $20.00 per hour
