Reporting to the Director of Strategic Advancement and working closely with the entire Museum team, the Donor Relations and Special Events Manager will be responsible for creating, activating, and measuring a well-coordinated annual giving program designated to cultivate and solicit support from individuals, corporations, and family foundations with a focus on major giving. They will lead or support the planning and execution of fundraising events such as the annual To Life dinner, donor engagement events, point-of-entry tours, and other events as assigned. They will also lead or support the development of communication tools for fundraising and individual donor solicitation and stewardship (i.e., appeal letters, talking points, scripts, presentations, etc.). This position will manage a portfolio of 100-150 prospects/donors. They will be accountable for developing and managing budgets while growing revenues and managing expenses.
The Donor Relations and Special Events Manager must be able to meet deadlines and juggle responsibilities, working collaboratively with other staff members. Must be detail oriented, calm under pressure, and have the ability to think creatively while working both independently as well as part of a team. Must also be able to work some night and weekend hours when necessary.
