Executive Director

As the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts prepares for its 25th anniversary next year, we are excited to launch our search for an experienced Executive Director to carry on the museum’s strong history and lead it into its next era.

Executive Consultant Wendy Leigh and Executive Curator Robin O’Dell were brought on in 2023 to oversee FMoPA’s move from downtown Tampa to its new home in historic Ybor City where it has experienced tremendous growth and new energy. In 2024, Sara Canon was promoted to Director of Museum Operations to oversee daily operations through the first year in our new space..

As planned, Wendy and Sara will be transitioning out of their temporary roles in 2025, but will partner with the new Executive Director, once hired, through the onboarding process.

Robin O’Dell will continue in her role as Executive Curator. Her tenure, training, experience and organizational history with FMoPA, along with her creative and keen eye, will continue to serve the organization well and lift it to new levels, capitalizing on the great success of her exhibitions this year including Fandom, Photo Ybor, and the award-winning Path of the Panther collaboration with Carlton Ward.

Recommendations and/or applications for the Executive Director position can be addressed to the FMoPA Board of Directors and sent to Wendyleigh@fmopa.org.

For this essential role at this pivotal time, we are looking for candidates who can bring vision, enthusiasm and strong strategic leadership to the position and organization.
