Tina Menendez, Director of Education, HistoryMiami Museum
Tina Menendez has worked in public school education, cultural education, and nonprofit management at various organizations in Chicago and South Florida for over 25 years. The Education Department at HistoryMiami Museum includes Public Programs for adult and family audiences, School Programs, City Tours, Accessibility, Outreach, and Visitor Services. Tina holds an Ed.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Urban Education Leadership and Public Policy. She has been with HistoryMiami Museum since 2016 and was previously a teacher and a school administrator in Chicago and in Broward County. She began her work in museums at The Field Museum in Chicago and the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance developing curricula and programs for schools, communities & the museum. Tina has developed and sustained partnerships with numerous community organizations, museums & schools. Her body of work has focused on increasing equity & access, supporting & creating opportunities for people to learn about one another & analyzing the impact of the work to continually improve.
